The "Counter-Corona Challenge" tries to be a little bit of a cheer up in a somewhat difficult time. Since everything needs rules, the exact "business terms" can be found below.
What it's all about?
The nominee shall accept or opt-out within 24 hours.
Accepting the challenge requires the participant to consume three drinks:
- 1 high-proof drink
- 1 common drink
- 1 dessert drink
Opting-out of the challenge requires the participant to bring a case of drinks to the person who nominated them.
Independent of accepting or opting out, the nominee shall record it on video and send it to the person who nominated them as well as to all the people that got nominated.
§1 General
The "Counter-Corona Challenge" must not be started without prior nomination. Only those who have been nominated shall participate.
§2 Participation
In principle, only people who have reached the age of 21 may participate. (After all, alcohol is part of it). In the case, a person got nominated that is currently pregnant the nominee has automatically completed the challenge and may proceed to nominate others.
§3 Time frame
If someone is nominated for this challenge, participation must take place within 24 hours. At the request of the nominated party, a one-off postponement of max. 12h can be granted.
§4 Process
(1) The nominee declares to accept the challenge and shall thank the person who nominated them.
(2) The first drink is a high-proof schnapps or liqueur of your choice. Whether it is poured in front of the camera or already served is up to the nominee’s choice, it only has to be clear what drink it is.
(3) The second drink is a "common drink" like a beer, wine, or a mixer. A full serving shall be consumed in a rapid manner.
(4) The third drink is a "desert drink". Whether it is a high or low proof shall be decided by the nominee. The goal is to end on a high note with a drink the nominee enjoys.
(5) Participation must be recorded on a video and send to both parties; the person who nominated the participant as well as all the people that got nominated.
§5 Alternative Process (opt-out)
In the case, a participant prefers to opt-out an alternative process shall be followed. The nominee declares to opt-out of the challenge and shall ensure the person who nominated them is well taken care of in the form of sending them a case of drinks to their doorstep. The nominee shall provide digital proof.
§6 Nomination
At the end of the challenge, each participant can nominate between three (3) and five (5) people to participate. A person may be nominated multiple times, however, a consecutive nomination must be at least 24 hours after a previous nomination.
§7 Timing
The duration of the video may not exceed 10 minutes. If a participant exceeds the maximum permitted duration, the challenge is considered "not completed".
§8 Group Participation
Multiple nominees are permitted to complete their participation together.
§9 Hairstyle
In a time where hair salons remain closed, nobody shall be made fun of because of their hairstyle.
§10 Missing drinks
The absence of beverages is no reason to ignore the challenge. A participant shall proceed by convincing the audience that the chosen replacements, e.g. vegetable soup, banana milk or protein shake are worthy replacements.
§99 Final provisions
For critics of this challenge – one can only say: It serves as a cheer up in difficult times – times where local pubs can’t be visited, and social contacts are rare. Nobody is forced to drink alcohol. A nominee shall be able to participate under this provision by consuming non-alcoholic drinks or food or anything else that seems appropriate.
